Come join SWEP, the Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships, for our annual SWEPPY awards and partner recognition on December 2nd, held in conjunction with the annual environmentally-focused Tahoe Film Fest. Partners are vital to the success of SWEP, so much so that “partners” is included in our name. To recognize their role and contributions that make our work possible, this year we inaugurate the SWEPPY awards to acknowledge our incredible partners. The SWEPPY’s, awarded by the Academy of Environmental Arts and Sciences (a.k.a. SWEP), will recognize ten stand-out partners for their excellence in partnership achievements as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership. The various category winners are awarded a copy of a unique (most likely student made) statuette, officially called the “SWEPPY Award of Merit”, or SWEPPY for short.

Come join us to celebrate another successful year and the vital role our partners play in “Promoting stewardship by connecting students to their community and local environment“. Consider making a full evening of it: view the film “Jane” about Jane Goodall playing at Truckee High School at 5 PM and then head on over to Marg’s for the SWEPPY’s! Tickets are sold separately for the film and the SWEPPYs. Hope you can make it!

Entry includes heavy apps, a complimentary beer, house wine or margarita (for adults, a soft drink for the kids), and a raffle ticket. (Raffle items are TBD, check back soon!). Marg’s will be running their full no-host bar service the entire evening!

On-line ticket sales will close at 6 PM on 12/1. Tickets may be available at the door for $45 ($30 in advance), but only if the event is not sold out. Given a cap of 150 guests, we cannot guarantee tickets will be available at the door.
